Brad Pitt – Happy Dad, Happy Actor

Brad Pitt was in Italy this weekend, promoting his latest film at the Venice Film Festival and certainly looking the part of the happy dad.

Many actors become dads and then gush in interviews about the loveliness of parenthood and Brad Pitt, parent of four, is certainly no exception.

The 43-year-old graced the red carpet at the Venice Film festival this weekend, promoting his new movie “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” when he chatted a bit with interviewers.

Anything Brad has to say about Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh, the four children he and partner Angelina Jolie are proud parents of, we want to hear. Family in tow, Brad was glad to be dad.

Asked if he and Angie were ready for more kids during an interview with an Italian TV station, Brad replied, “Yeah, we’re ready.”

He added that bringing up his four bundles of joy is immense fun, making the downside of getting practically no sleep seem insignificant.

“It's the most fun I've ever had and also the biggest pain in the ass I've ever experienced,” he said. “I love it and can't recommend it any more highly - although sleep is non-existent.”

The actor added: “It makes me much more efficient because when I work I really have to focus, I know I've less time to get things done. Actually I'm quite pleased by it.”

Brad has plenty of projects to vouch for his newfound efficiency.

Last week he was in New Orleans’ devastated Lower Ninth Ward, where environmentally friendly reconstruction is underway, as part of a project headed by Pitt, Global Green USA and financial partner, Home Depot Foundation.

Then there’s what brought Brad in Venice in the first place: “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” a Western drama directed by Andrew Dominik, starring Pitt as Jesse James and Casey Affleck as Robert Ford.

The movie, which Brad described as “complex and complicated,” is a contender for the Golden Lion prize for best film. The cast includes Mary-Louise Parker, Sam Shepard, Sam Rockwell and Zooey Deschanel.

“This is a very complex and complicated film that isn't part of the current zeitgeist of film-making,” Brad said. “It's more a throwback to some of the great films of the Seventies.

“I think it's a delicious film, it sits and breathes like good wine, and it's ultimately my favorite kind of film-making,” he added.

“The Assassination of Jesse James” is competing with (among others) the drama “Atonement,” starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, “Michael Clayton,” starring George Clooney and “Sleuth,” starring Sir Michael Caine and Jude Law.

Despite malicious rumors in the tabloids, the Jolie-Pitts seem quite content. Angelina and Brad are happy with the movies they make and they are certainly pleased with family life.
