Another study conducted by the
Pew Internet and American Life Project reveals new interesting things about the
way the Internet and its brand new software tools impact teenagers’ lives. Titled
Teens and Social Media, the report proved that more teens than ever are sharing
online different types of content, such as video files, photos and text. This
is not at all surprising, as we’ve become this new increasing phenomenon’s
witnesses since half a decade ago.
The Pew Internet & American
Life Project discovered that 93 percent of the United States’ teenagers use the
Internet in some way, while 39 percent of them share their own artistic creations,
such as photos, artwork, photos or videos. 28 percent of these teenagers have
created their own online blog or journal and 26 percent remix content they find
online for their own web sites. So, that makes up for 64 percent of online teenagers,
or 59 percent of all teenagers that are creating something on the Web.
Pew Internet’s recent study also
revealed significant increases in video sharing and blogging. While boys love
posting video content, girls are rather interested in blogging and sharing
photos.
So, it seems that our children
started to practically live their lives online. Should we call this evolution?
