On Monday, Intuit Inc. announced that its QuickBooks application has been made available for Research in Motions Ltd.'s BlackBerry and Apple Inc.’s iPhone. Anyone who owns one of the two smartphones can get the app from IntuitLabs.com.
QuickBooks can come in very handy to some, as it can be used for checking banking and credit card information, finding vendors and contacts and several other equally important activities.
Intuit Inc. said the company’s website represents a way to encourage people to try out early releases and provide feedback, so that the customers’ opinions can help develop better products.
The QuickBooks Online service can be used for a monthly fee which starts at $9.95; the Web-based applications designed for the iPhone and BlackBerry come free of charge for QuickBooks Online users.
Rick Jensen, Intuit small business division VP, noticed that more and more small businesses are beginning to implement mobile technology in the way they run their operations. The company developed the QuickBooks Online app so that it could allow users to keep tabs on their businesses even during those times when they are not in the office.
Launched back in 2000, Intuit’s QuickBooks Online has managed to bring in about 130,000 small business subscribers; however, the number of actual users is of almost three times that. With the new release, many more are expected to join in.
