Dina Lohan, the never tiring manager mom of Lindsay Lohan and
up and coming musical star Ali Lohan won’t let it rest: attention, attention
and yet more attention is what her reality show “Living Lohan” is seeking.
What better way for Dina to command attention than by
talking? A lot? Whether angry, handing out advice, spiteful, threatening, bossy…
she always has something to say, something to complain or worry about. For instance,
she is very very angry with the paparazzi, who transgress the boundary and
invade her private life – yet she leaves less and less to be invaded.
Ali Lohan is of a tender age – at 14, she is starving to
follow in her sister’s footsteps, a wish she has no trouble expressing and
which her mother fully agrees with. Supposedly, Dina stars in “Living Lohan”
with her young daughter to promote the latter’s singing and acting career.
The momager also says she is doing the reality series for
the sake of her family, which she insists is most important for her.
“My kids are the most important” springs up frequently in
her speeches, whether she is with Ali in Las Vegas, supervising the teenager as
she records songs for her album, or home checking 11-year-old son Cody’s school
and sports schedule or 20-year-old son Michael’s comings and goings.
Funny enough, Dina’s tale in the cast section of her show’s
website is not particularly flattering. She is described as a “tough cookie,” a woman who gave up her own dreams to become a professional dancer when she found herself the mother of a growing brood, only to guide Lindsay “to the showbiz career she never had.”
“Now she intends to do the same for Ali,” which means
encouraging the kid to wear tons of makeup and mature clothes and pose nicely
for not-so-appropriate pictures. Then again, Ali is described as the “girl
young teens look up to when they’ve outgrown Hannah Montana.” Subtle, that.
“Living Lohan” debuts tonight on E! Entertainment Television,
right after another brand new reality series makes its entrance: “Denise Richards:
It’s Complicated.” Former Bond girl Denise Richards loves her children the most
too, which is why daughters Sam and Lola, with actor Charlie Sheen, appear on
the show.
Both Dina Lohan and Richards have been adamant that their
reality series will prove who they really are and clarify the terrible gossip
that’s been circulated about them over the past couple of years.
Yet Dina, who said she didn’t want Lindsay on her show
because it wouldn’t help the troubled actress’s comeback, mentions her eldest daughter’s
name within her first breath, and in no pretty context either.
Richards meanwhile can never give her bitter feud with Sheen
a rest. And if it’s not dirty family laundry, it’s pig poop. Literally.
