Body Of Missing Boy From Minneapolis Found By Police

The body of a 4-year-old missing boy was found Sunday at a relative’s home in Minneapolis where he was staying, according to police.

The boy, Demond Keith Reed, was reported missing from his relatives’ home since Wednesday where he was dropped there by his mother so that she could travel to Chicago.

According to authorities, a woman was arrested on Sunday, but was not charged. It is thought that the woman was a boy’s cousin.

According to Charmon Brown, the boy's grandmother, she let the boy in the cousin’s care and apparently the cousin hurt the boy. At first the cousin refused to admit it, but Brown realized something was wrong when the cousin couldn’t tell a good story when the boy went missing on Wednesday.

Police is investigating the case as a homicide.

Due to reports it was thought that the boy was traveling with a family acquaintance thus making the police to delay the Amber Alert, United Press International informs.

The Hennepin County, Minnesota, Medical Examiner's office is now trying to find out how and when did the boy died.

Brown said: “You see it all the time, but you never think in your family. You never think. She had to snap. I don't know what's wrong with her. She needs help. Now all I have is this picture, this memory of him with his smile. God has him and he's a child of God. He's in God's care," abc7chicago.com reports.

Police doesn’t have any information about the car in which Desmond Reed was thought to be traveling.

Authorities will continue interview everybody related to the case in order to find out other details about boy’s death.

The boy was sent to his father by his mother and he had been staying with relatives ever since his father was arrested last month.
