For the popular video game developer company Blizzard
Entertainment, the Worldwide Invitational tournament in Paris represented the perfect opportunity to
officially announce the upcoming release of its Diablo III, its latest action
Role Playing Game (RPG).
The introduction for the game was offered by Blizzard’s
president and co-founder Mike Morhaime and the presentation was carried out by
Jay Wilson.
The release is the franchise’s first in eight years and the
hype surrounding the game managed to reach extremely high levels over the past
few weeks.
Blizzard’s online service Battle.net will provide once again
the game’s multiplayer option which has been very successful ever since its
launch with the original Diablo game in 1997. It will be available for PCs and
Macs and it is expected to ship simultaneously worldwide.
The game will benefit from some "realistic object
dynamics and cloth simulation," with a 3D isometric view, as the demo trailer
showed. It will offer a new experience with many hours of activity, as the
game’s world map presents a very large number of locations, a lot more than the
previous games in the series.
Just as everyone expected, the company did not announce the
game’s official release date, stating that it is way too early to be talking
about this, as the team’s members plan to spend as much time as needed to
develop the game at its full potential, thus offering a product which will meet
their expectations and of course, the ones of the game’s enthusiasts.
The announcement and demo trailer came after weeks of heavy
speculations with fans all over the world expressing their beliefs about the
game’s features and presentation.
