Travis Barker, 32, ex-drummer for band Blink-182, is
currently admitted to the Grossman Burn Recovery
Center in Los Angeles, recovering from a plane crash of
which he and fellow passenger DJ AM were the only survivors.
The plane went down on September 19 in South Carolina and killed four people. Among
them were pilot Sarah Lemmon and copilot James Bland. According to a Lexington County coroner the latter died of burns
and smoke inhalation suffered in the crash. Also killed in the crash, but by
impact injuries, were Chris Baker and Charles Still, both friends and
colleagues of the two survivors.
Inspired by the speedy recovery his friend DJ AM, real name
Adam Goldstein, whom he has seen discharged from the same hospital, Baker remains
optimistic and has made a post on his MySpace page, offering his “deepest
thanks” to those who’ve helped with the situation, and even posted some
pictures of himself in the hospital bed.
Barker did not, however, miss out on the opportunity to add
fuel to the fire in an ongoing cold war he and his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. The
two have had their share of laundering their dirty clothes in public on MySpace
before, and this time is no different. "I've been treated amazingly well,
both here in LA and in Georgia," Barker says of his stay in the hospital, "Despite
any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not
seen since the week I checked in," he added, taking a jab at his ex, with
whom he has two children.
The off-hand remark comes as a rebut to Moakler’s statements
to People and several other tabloids in which she details her ex’s ordeals,
while also claiming to be at Travis’ side throughout
