There are
few people who like the names their parents chose for them. Also, many don’t
even like the nicknames their friends gave them for one reason or another. That’s
why some of us try to come up with an alter-ego tailored to our own conception of
our personality, skills, appearance and so forth.
Well, that’s
exactly what Beyonce has recently done, since her new double album introduces
the R&B singer under a whole new identity: Sasha Fierce. Scheduled to hit United States stores on November 18, the album is
entitled (so that it leaves no room for interpretation) “I Am ... Sasha
Fierce.”
The former Destiny's Child frontwoman Beyonce Knowles has
also revealed the reasons behind her peculiar choice for an alter-ego, stating
that while on stage or working on her songs, she felt protected by her some sort
of alias, since apparently she now has the ability to split her personality in
two, having said that someone else took over her when performing.
In addition,
it seems that Sasha is (no, not her evil twin) her more sensual, more
aggressive and more glamorous side, that only comes to light when the singer is
on stage or recording.
Talk about
bringing out the worst in people. Some seem to need no outside push to do that,
they just unleash the beast that lies within themselves, no trigger required.
Beyonce,
27, released her debut solo album called „Dangerously in Love” in June 2003, which earned her five Grammy
Awards in a single night one year later.
In 2006,
her second album “B'Day” came out, celebrating her 25th
birthday on September 4.
This third
material is set to be distributed by Columbia Records.
