After dipping her toe in acting and family life, R&B singer Beyonce Knowles is set to release her third solo album in November, her record label Columbia Records announced on September 9.
According to Reuters, in advance to her yet unnamed record, which will hit the stores on November 18, Beyonce will be amping things up a month earlier, when she simultaneously releases the first two singles from the album, "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies."
The highly anticipated album will mark Beyonce's first new studio collection since the Grammy-winning multi-platinum-selling "B'Day" which debuted at #1 on charts around the world shortly after its international release on September 4, 2006 (in celebration of the artist's 25th birthday). According to Nielsen SoundScan, the record sold over 3.2 million copies in the United States.
Columbia said the new album was Beyonce's "most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to-date," and noted that she co-wrote and co-produced all the songs. Justin Timberlake will also appear on the as-yet-untitled project, but additional details about his contributions have not been released.
The artists teamed up to cover the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell classic "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" last Friday at the Fashion Rocks event at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
Beyonce's younger sister Solange, 22, is also celebrating her successful album debut at No. 9 on the charts last week with her second album, "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams."
In the meantime, Beyonce is also gearing up for two upcoming film projects. She stars as blues legend Etta James in "Cadillac Records," a release date for which has yet to be announced, and as the wife of a stalking target in "Obsessed," due February 27.
When it comes to her personal life, Beyonce kept pretty quiet about her secret April wedding with rap mogul Jay-Z, although for the first time on Friday night, the artist publicly displayed her wedding ring. Flashing and 18 carat flawless diamond by Lorraine Schwartz, valued at more than $5 million dollars, according to the jeweler, Beyonce walked the the red carpet for Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C. Jay-Z, who did not attend the event, wore his wedding ring in public for the first time on July 29.
