Only one day is left and Apple’s sold-out
event will begin and speculating has never been so much fun. During the Worldwide
Developer Conference (WWDC), starting June 9 in San Francisco, CEO
Steve Jobs is expected to unveil a series of newcomers that will most certainly
expand Apple’s fan base even further.
Allegedly on their way are the new versions of
the MacBook and MacBook Pro. It is said that they would come with modified
designs, as well as with a new feature possibly consisting of a multi-touch track
pad surface.
Next up, we may get the chance to see a
preview of Mac OS X 10.6, also known as Snow Leopard, normally scheduled for
release next year. It was said that it would feature significant "performance
enhancements and stability improvements," in order to correct all the
problems complaint about with the OS X 10.5, or Leopard.
Another rumor says that a new service is being
prepared for launch tomorrow; MobileMe is to replace the .Mac online service
for OS X users.
According to TUAW, MobileMe was initially scheduled for release
later on this month, but there is a good chance that Apple will take advantage
of the huge June 9 event. The service could feature calendars similar to those
of Apple iCal, contacts similar to those of Apple Address Book and several
other functions.
Pretty much everything related to the conference has been kept secret up
to this point; whatever happens in the following four days should be
interesting to follow.
