Ben Affleck's spokesman, Shawn Sachs, and Jennifer Garner's spokeswoman, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, made the announcement on Tuesday of Garner’s giving birth to their second daughter in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center but would not provide any additional details.
The baby, whose name has not been revealed yet, joins 3-year-old Violet Anne, the couple's first child.
According to US, Jennifer Garner was spotted smiling while being wheeled on a roll-away hospital bed as she was taken to her room. It appeared as if she held her new born in her arms at that very moment.
People magazine said in the weeks before her delivery that the actress has been seen out and about near her Brentwood home picking up Violet from pre-school, visiting a salon and shopping at a farmer's market.
