Actor Ben Affleck is preparing to be a father again, as well
as to return on screen in the new Mike Judge comedy “Extract.”
The actor is currently in talks with the “Beavis and
Butthead” creator for the role of an ambulance-chasing lawyer in the upcoming
Miramax production.
The film tells the story of a flower extract factory owner,
played by Jason Bateman, who deals with a lot of bad luck both at work and in
his lovelife, considering his wife has an affair with a gigolo.
The pic features Clifton Collins Jr. as a factory worker who
loses a body part in a freak accident and hopes for a huge settlement. Other
members of the cast are Mila Kunis and Kristen Wiig. The filming will start
Monday in Los Angeles, Variety reports.
Besides from writing the screenplay, Mike Judge also
produces the movie, together with John Altschuler and Mike Rotenberg, through
their Ternion Prods.
With this film, Affleck continues his relationship with
Miramax studio, which began with his writing and starring in “Good Will
Hunting” in 1997. Affleck also made his directorial debut in collaboration with
Miramax, with the film “Gone Baby Gone” last year.
The 36-year-old actor’s last significant onscreen role was
the one in the biopic Hollywoodland in 2006. He recently finished work on
romantic comedy “He’s Just Not That Into You” and political drama “State Of
Play,” which is a film version of the BBC series.
Ben Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Garner, confirmed today that
she was pregnant with their second child, but she did not reveal whether the
baby was a boy or a girl. The couple’s first baby, daughter Violet, was born in
December 2005.
Garner told “Access Hollywood” that she and her husband were
“so excited, obviously.” The interview with the 36-year-old actress will air
Thursday.
