Aside from the extremely popular show, Bart Simpson’s voice can now be heard in a Scientology-related phone message. Nancy Cartwright, Bart’s voice for more than 20 years, decided to use the voice to promote her beliefs, which was not received all that well.

The Simpsons' executive producer, Al Jean, tried to make it as clear as possible: "The Simpsons does not, and never has, endorsed any religion, philosophy or system of beliefs any more profound than Butterfinger bars," he said, adding that "This is not authorized by us."

The message starts with the cartoon character saying "Yo, what's happenin' man, this is Bart Simpson. Haha. Just kidding, don't hang up, this is Nancy Cartwright," and after all the details for the event are provided, the Bart voice comes in once again, stating: "It's gonna be a blast man."

Cartwright is well known for practicing Scientology, which she first begun in 1989. She is extremely involved in all sorts of projects and even donated $10 million to the organization, showing bigger efforts than other celebrities who are promoting it, such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Scientology is a body of beliefs and related practices created back in 1952 by American science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard, who describes it as an applied religious philosophy and also the basis for a new religion. The first Scientology church was established in New Jersey in December 1953. There are many who criticize it, claiming that it is only a cult that abuses its members and financially defrauds them.
