Barbara Bush is the wife of George H. W. Bush, the former vice president and the 41st president of the United States. She is the mother of current president of the United States, George W. Bush, but also of Jeb Bush, the former Florida Governor. Between 1989 and 1993, while husband George H. W. Bush was president, Barbara Bush served as First Lady of the United States. Before that, she had been the Second Lady of the United States for eight years, while her husband served as vice president. She has been a permanent supporter of universal literacy, both when her husband was in office and after he left his position.

Unfortunately, the former First Lady is currently admitted to hospital. On Tuesday, she complained of supposedly “a little bit of pain”, according to one of the family’s spokesmen. Barbara Bush was rushed to the hospital that same night, with her husband, George H. W. Bush, at her side. Their son, the current president of the United States, George W. Bush, was soon notified about his mother’s health condition.

Barbara Bush, who is now 83, was tested for several conditions, yet the test results came back negative. However, the doctors decided to keep her under observation overnight.

Recently, Barbara Bush had accused stomach pains. When the pain failed to go away, she decided to tell her husband, asking him to take her to the hospital. They were taken by the Secret Service to the Methodist Hospital.

During her husband’s years as vice president and president, the former Second and First s Lady decided to tell the public that she suffered from Graves disease which is an affection of the thyroid. It usually causes blurred vision and teary eyes. So far, it seems that her condition is not related to her current affliction.
