Barack Obama said that he considers the interview in which his two daughters appear to be a mistake. Mr. Obama has long said that he does not want his family to be involved in his campaign and that he has tried to keep it out of the press’s eyes as much as possible. According to him, the interview he has given to Access Hollywood on the fourth of July was nothing more than a mistake, and merely the result of being taken by surprise by the interviewers.
This interview is scheduled to be aired in three parts, of which the first installment has already been broadcasted on Tuesday. The next two are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. While it was originally supposed to feature the presidential candidate and his wife, the team managed to get the senator’s two daughters, Malia, 10 years old, and Sasha, age 7, to talk about their family life.
The Access Hollywood interview was made as Mr. Barack Obama and his family were having a birthday party for Malia, his oldest daughter. According to the MSNBC, Mr. Obama told Matt Lauer that “We were having a birthday party, and everybody was laughing. And suddenly this thing cropped up. I didn’t catch it quickly enough. I was surprised by the attention it received.”
Even though the interview can be considered to improve the image of the Democratic presidential candidate even more, Mr. Barack Obama said that he will try to avoid having his family in the spotlight in the future.
