The U.S. Presidential candidates have not given up on the fight, and neither have their respective chosen Vice Presidents, Republican Sarah Palin and Democrat Joe Biden. Their performances on the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates have been fierce and have shown the American citizens how committed the candidates are on winning the elections and improving the American system.
Obama’s campaign has been one of the most powerful and convincing in the U.S. history and it is quite surprising how many white Americans support the African-American candidate. At least it was very surprising to the Republican side, which led to Sarah Palin shamelessly accusing Barack Obama of being friends with terrorists, among other scandalous charges from McCain’s Vice President candidate.
In an attempt to reach as many people as possible and to determine the undecided to vote (preferably with the Democrats), Barack Obama purchased 30 minutes worth of primetime airing space on top networks CBS and NBC. The campaign is dead set on producing a pitch which will air across the nation on the 29th of October, just a week before the elections on November 4th.
The brilliance of this move is that Obama promotes unity and addresses all of the United Sates, without making a common mistake namely focusing on a small number of states. Ross Perrot, a 1992 candidate, also purchased airtime near the elections, as opposed to the traditional airtime usually purchased before the campaigns began. It is yet unclear whether John McCain will make a similar move in an effort to beat or at least lessen Obama’s popularity. This might be a sign that Obama’s campaign budget clearly supersedes what the Republicans are willing to spend.
