Anne Heche told a judge during her custody trial with her ex-husband that she could no longer afford to pay nearly $15,000 a month in child and spousal support, after the cancellation of her show “Men in Trees.”

"I am continuing to look for work, but I have no offers pending and the impending strike by the Screen Actors Guild reduces my prospects for work even further," Heche, 38, wrote in court papers, according to People magazine.

A judge gave her a temporary break, saying she didn’t have to cover the next support payment to her ex-husband Coley Laffoon, 34, for the month of July.

However, Superior Court Judge Gail Ruderman Feuer ordered the actress to provide updated information regarding income and expense.

According to a declaration filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Heche is $364,000 in debt due to her divorce litigation, while she only had $34,840.93 in all her accounts Tuesday, E! Online reports.

Heche said she was unemployed since January 18, 2008, and she had no income from unemployment except for a short term contract for a movie role, for which she received $65,000. That is why she said she could no longer pay the private school tuition for her 6-year-old son Homer, the mortgage on her house on Canada, the rent on her Los Angeles home and her car expenses.
