Lesson number one: when you want to rob a bank, do not use
your personal checks as notes. Lesson number two: in case you do such a thing..smile
when they take your mug shot.
Ocala police informed that a bank robber made their job
easier when he used his personal check in two robberies. Not one robbery…but
two. Well…there will be no third opportunity to make the same mistake, as the
man was caught.
According to Ocala, police said that Patrick Shane Johnson, 33,
was arrested Monday afternoon after a second robbery.
Allegedly the man wrote some notes demanding money, but the
notes were written on both sides of the man’s check. Ocala police spokeswoman
Sgt. Angy Scroble said that Johnson used a robbery note on his check during the
9:45 a.m. robbery at the Bank of America at 3120 S.W. 34th Ave. Some agents
with the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team caught Patrick Shane Johnson in a taxicab.
They found the robber in the back seat with a handgun. After he was arrested he
was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center as he was complaining of a high
heart rate.
Scroble said that nobody was injured during the robberies.
