Screenshots from Rare’s upcoming highly anticipated game
Banjo-Kazooie surfaced on the web, showing the art style and several vehicles,
amongst which a jeep, a plane and some sort of flying cauldron.
The official release for the Xbox 360 game is set for
tomorrow, May 13, during Microsoft Gamers’ Day in San Francisco.
According to one of Rare’s representatives quoted by Gamespot,
the game will not include a racing competition. "Please don't jump to any
conclusions because you haven't seen the half of it yet. You're better off
waiting for tomorrow when we will talk about it in much more detail. You can't
really tell the gameplay mechanics from a screenshot, and it's the gameplay mechanics
which are going to blow people away tomorrow."
Banjo-Kazooie debuted in 1998 on the Nintendo 64 console,
and stared a bear, Banjo and a bird, Kazooie, on a quest to rescue Banjo’s
sister Tooty. The sequel was released in 2000 and since then two other games
followed: Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty’s Revenge and Banjo-Pilot.
The new game, part of the next generation for Xbox 360 was
announced back in 2006 at Microsoft’s X06 press conference and since then very
little information was available on the game’s development.
The game is expected to be compatible with the Wii Remote
controller and will probably go by the name of Banjo Kazooie 3 or Banjo Threeie.
