After many months in which the new announced album of “Guns
N Roses” did not appear, soft drink giant Dr. Pepper declared it would offer a
free drink to every American if the band eventually released the LP.
According to BBC News, Rose said he appreciated Dr. Pepper’s
support.
"We are
surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album
Chinese Democracy," he said.
The album had been most recently scheduled for March 207,
but it still did not hit the record stores, and no new date was set.
Jaxie Alt, Marketing Director at Dr. Pepper, said he could
perfectly understand Axl's quest for perfection.
"It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper’s
special mix of 23 ingredients, which our fans have come to know and love. So we
completely understand and empathize with Axl's quest for perfection – for
something more than the average album," he said, according to NME.
"We know once it's released, people will refer to it as ‘Dr Pepper for the ears’ because it
will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds - an instant
classic."
The company announced that every American would receive a
free drink when the album is released, except the “estranged guitarists” of the
band, Slash and Buckethead.
If released, "Chinese Democracy" will be the
band’s first album since the "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your
Illusion II." Albums, appeared in 1991.
While trying to record "Chinese Democracy," Rose
reportedly spent at least $13 million in recording expenses and also broke-up
the longtime relationships with his band colleagues, who had contributed to
turning Guns N Roses into one of the most famous rock bands in 1990s.
