She was young, naïve and trusting and she agreed to have
herself photographed in the nude. “The Hills” actress Audrina Patridge says she
has learned her lesson and hopes other young girls will take heed as well from
her experience.
Audrina Patridge, the 22-year-old model and actress who
found fame as a cast member of MTV’s reality television show “The Hills,” may
have an angelic look on her face but she’s been naughty.
Topless and fully nude photos of her surfaced on the
Internet late Tuesday night but Audrina says she had just graduated from high
school when they were taken and maturity was not her strongest feature at the
time.
“I took these photos years ago when I was just out of high
school and beginning to model. I was young and very trusting of others and I
didn't know to protect myself,” she said a in a statement for TMZ.com.
“It is a lesson learned, for myself, and hopefully for the
young girls who look up to me,” she added.
TMZ adds that at the time the racy photos were taken,
Audrina had already done a bit of modeling and had set her eyes on a
collaboration with Playboy.
Some have long been expecting for some scandalous photos to
surface featuring Audrina’s “Hills” costar, Lauren Conrad, or even better, a
sex tape, but no such event has occurred yet.
Lauren Conrad has been busy with her nascent fashion line,
while costar Heidi Montag is attempting to launch a music career.
Audrina’s career will probably not suffer once the photos
make the rounds. Vanessa Hudgens was at the center of a similar scandal last
year, when sexy pics of the 19-year-old were mysteriously leaked online.
The “High School Musical” actress was quick to apologize for
the situation, stating: “I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having
ever taken those photos.”
Disney issued a statement as well, excusing “what was
obviously a lapse in judgment.”
After some speculation from fans and critics alike regarding
Vanessa’s future with Disney, it was announced in November, about a month after
the controversy, that she had signed on for “High School Musical 3.”
