It's official: former Danity Kane star Aubrey O'Day received $500,000 to do a naked photo shoot for Playboy.

Rumors of the singer, who left Danity Kane in October, stripping off for the popular erotic magazine started back in November and now an insider claimed that O'Day finally took up the offer made by Playboy owner Hugh Hefner.

"Aubrey's making about $500,000 to drop trou. For that kind of money, she was like 'Why not?'" a source told the New York Daily News. According to TMZ, the attention-grabber was at a photo studio in Manhattan all day this week shooting a spread which may also involve cats.

The 24-year-old singer, who is no stranger to taking her clothes off for men's magazines, said in an interview she was perfectly fine with being "ridiculed and called a whore and the party animal and the dumb girl" for the rest of her career, because she loves who she is, and people have different ways of interpreting her. 

She previously posed topless for men’s magazine Complex and stripped off with her ex-bandmates for a PETA campaign in October of 2008 and also modeled for fashion brand Famous for Stars & Straps and posed for numerous men’s magazines including Maxim, Blender and Stuff.

O'Day shot to fame on Diddy's MTV reality show Making the Band, as the lead singer of girl group Danity Kane.
