Monday morning, the driver of a car chased by the police thought that a house on Bolton Road was a good hiding place. So, he crashed into it. One person died and another one was severely injured.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta police spokesman Eric Schwartz said that someone called and reported that a car broke-in on Hyde Manor Drive. He also described the vehicle and the suspects. The car was spotted by a police officer and he began chasing the Honda Accord.

In a few second the car went off the road and crashed into the basement of a house. One of the suspects managed to escape, said Schwartz.

Because of the crash, the driver died and the passenger was seriously injured. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The identities of the suspects were not made public. The persons from the house were not hurt.

Police crews were pulling the car out of the basement while firefighters sustained the house with big timbers so that it wouldn’t collapse.

Apparently the house was rented by Naomi Dumas and, at the time of the crash, she and her son were sleeping on the sofa, reported the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Bolton Road was closed during the morning.
