It’s already a known fact that Caroline Kennedy is running for a Senate seat. Caroline is a member of the very popular and influential Kennedy family, and she is a lawyer by formation, earning a degree at the prominent Columbia law School, but also an author. During the 2008 Presidential campaign and elections, she strongly endorsed the Democrat candidate and current President-elect, Barack Obama. The Senate seat she is running for is the one left vacant by Hillary Clinton, after the latter was appointed as Secretary of State by Barack Obama.
The Governor of New York, David Paterson, is taking her candidature seriously into consideration. When assessing a candidate, one must look into their experience, beliefs, past actions and make a list of pluses and minuses – exactly what David Paterson seems to have done.
According to the New York Governor, one of Caroline Kennedy’s minuses is her lack or legislative experience: “She does not have much political, I mean, legislative experience, which is a minus.”
Paterson also has good things to say about Caroline Kennedy when it comes to the possibility of her taking the Senate seat. The Governor said he has spoken to about 10 candidates so far about running for Hillary Clinton’s former Senate seat, and Caroline has a gold star as she “obviously does have a tremendous relationship with Barack Obama that's certainly a plus.”
