Thursday, Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz became
parents for the first time, when their son named Bronx Mowgli Wentz was born at
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Simpson-Wentz, 24, and her son are both doing well after the
delivery, a spokesperson quoted by People magazine revealed.
American pop rock singer-songwriter Ashlee Simpson is the
younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson, who has caught the attention of tabloids many times over the years.
Ashlee rose
to fame back in 2004, when she released her debut album “Autobiography,” along
with the reality series “The Ashlee Simpson Show,” both productions having then
gained much critical acclaim.
Simpson-Wentz’s
second album called “I Am Me” hit the markets in October 2005, followed by “Bittersweet
World,” which was released this year, in April.
On May
17, 2008,
the singer married “Fall Out Boy” bassist Pete Wentz, after they had announced their engagement on
April 9.
Eleven days
later, the couple revealed, via “Fall Out Boy's” official website, that
they were expecting their first child.
Pete Wentz, 29, is best known for his work with the Chicago-based
aforementioned band.
He is also author to a book called „The Boy With the Thorn In His Side,” which stemmed from the nightmares he used to
have as a child.
Currently,
he is co-authoring a book alongside William Beckett, lead singer of the band „The Academy
Is...”
Wentz owns Clandestine
Industries Company, which specializes in the distribution of books and clothing.
