Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her husband, Pete Wentz, welcomed
their first child on Thursday night, a spokesperson informed People magazine.
The baby boy, named Bronx Mowgli Wentz, weighed 7 lbs., 11
oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long and, according to the spokesperson, he was
“healthy and happy” and so were his parents.
The 24-year-old sister of singer Jessica Simpson and the
29-year-old bassist of rock band Fall Out Boy made the pregnancy public in May,
just a couple of weeks after their luxurious wedding. The couple tied the knot
during a secret ceremony at her parents’ residence in Los Angeles, where Jessica Simpson was maid
of honor.
At the time, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz said that she was very excited
about the baby and that she wished to have a big family together with her
hubby, with whom she started a relationship approximately two years ago.
The fresh daddy recently told People that he had been asking
his friend, Joel Madden, the lead singer of rock band Good Charlotte, for baby
tips, since Madden is the father of a 9-month-old girl, Harlow Winter Kate
Madden, with girlfriend Nicole Richie. He told the publication that turning to
a young person for such advice was “really awesome.”
On November 1, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz held a
Winnie the Pooh-inspired baby shower, which was attended, among others, by
Nicole Richie and her daughter.
