What do we know about global warming? For starters…it’s
warm, which hasn’t been the case in recent years, as the weather is putting on
display some rather strange behavior. Snow in Middle East, China under heavy
snow storms, that is something to think about as it puts face to face to
opposite phenomena: global warming and lower temperatures.
Global warming critics and advocates have been engaged in
such controversial matter for some time now, and the questions that appear from
this situation in particular doesn’t make it any easier. Are we melting, or are
we preparing for global cooling, one might ask. It’s no wonder relying on a
weather forecast became quite tricky, as we are usually in for unexpected
surprises.
Both the warming and the cooling of the Earth have a scientific
base, and a logical explanation for the strange to predict weather. Our planet
has been submitted to alternating warm and cold periods, and is now thought to
have entered the global warming phase. At the same time, this doesn’t necessarily
mean we won’t have any ‘cold’ phenomena around.
However, scientists still debate whether this is indeed a
global warming period, or the global warming ended and we are entering a
cooling phase. So, what are we heading for? Every theory has a reverse, and it
became hard to explain what is actually going on with our planet. Are we
heading for a global pool or for a giant sheet of ice?
One thing people are starting to focus on is greenhouse
emission reduction, which is not bad at all, but at the same time doesn’t
assure us that global warming will stop, or stop affecting us. If we get to
think of it, what we are trying to control is actually beyond our power of
understanding, we are just trying to figure things out, but who knows what
Mother Nature has in store for us?
