Apprentice winner Bill Rancic and E! News anchor Giuliana DePandi married this Saturday on the Italian island of Capri, in a lavish ceremony.
Bill Rancic, 36, is the proud winner of Donald Trump’s first season of reality business show “The Apprentice.” He is now also the proud husband of E! News host Giuliana DePandi, 32, after the traditional Catholic ceremony that took place this weekend on Capri.
The two have been engaged since December of 2006, according to People magazine. Both wished to have a classic Catholic ceremony, in Italian and English. It was delivered by the priest Rancic’s family have known for decades.
People offers all the lovely details of the event: church aisle strewn with white rose petals and dotted with white candles, Italian-style menu and a luxurious location for the after-party.
Giuliana reportedly wore a white, strapless and beaded Monique Lhuillier dress and veil especially designed for her, while Bill wore a white tie and black tuxedo custom-tailored by the bride's father, owner of a high-end men's clothing store in Maryland.
Giuliana designated her sister Monica as maid of honor, while Bill named his late father “honorary” best man.
“I lost my father several years back and he's the honorary best man,” the entrepreneur said. “We'll have a candle up there as a tribute to him.”
The newly married couple then arranged for their nearly two hundred guests to be taken to Capri's center piazza, where “dozens of Neapolitan dancers were to sing and dance alongside the guests.” Giuliana and Bill led their guests to the reception at the Grand Hotel Quisisana, according to People, amid the singing and dancing.
Bill, author of two business books, had also invited mentor Donald Trump. “His schedule didn't allow it,” he said.
A full schedule will also prevent the newlyweds, at least for the time being, from enjoying the complementary honeymoon.
“We both have to get back to work,” Giuliana said, referring to her upcoming covering of the Emmys on Sept. 16. and Bill’s forthcoming duties as the new host of “In The Loop” with IVillage on NBC.
