As we’re just days away from Apple’s event in San Francisco,
we can’t help but wonder what iPod goodies the Cupertino-based company has in
store for us. As usual, Apple has not been very chatty about it, which gave
birth to a lot of speculation about what may or may not happen next week.
Apple invited everyone to “rock” in San Francisco, but then
what? We all know that September is the iPod month, and we can all assume that
Jobs will come up with a new line of iPods, possibly some new appealing prices,
but is it enough to get the world stop talking about the iPhone? I don’t think
so.
However, let’s give the iPod a chance! According to Kevin
Rose, architect for Digg and co-founder of Pownce, we might be looking at some
design changes in the iPod Touch, and a complete makeover for the iPod Nano,
some software updates and some price cuts “to distance from the iPhone.”
The bottom line is: if you were planning on buying an iPod
anytime soon, don’t do it before September 9, or you might be sorry. iPod fans
will probably want to get their hands on the fourth generation iPod, at better
prices, and with more features than ever.
Apple will of course keep a complete secrecy until next
week, but Rose seemed pretty confident that his predictions are accurate (this
time) and that we will see it all happening in Apple’s official presentation in
San Francisco.
Whatever new iPod goodies Apple has in store, the company
sure knows marketing, since the announcement come just in time for the holiday
season shopping frenzy.
