Curious as it seems, a second case maker has added references to an iPhone nano to its website, just days to go before the annual Macworld trade show. Case designer Vaja has joined XSKN with an update to its web catalog, stating that it plans to deliver protective garments for an Apple-developed iPhone nano in the near future.
The reference on the Web site links customers to a web form where they can sign up for the incoming release of Vaja's iPhone nano cases. However, as some bloggers point out, it might be just an attempt of the Web site to jump in on the recent hype surrounding the matter.
It's highly unlikely that third-party accessory companies would have access to such advanced product information, but case makers with contacts at Apple's off-shore manufacturing facilities may be able to obtain specifications for the company's future handheld products through unconventional means.
As previously mentioned, XSKN was the first case maker to begin selling protective holders for both the iPhone 3G and fourth-generation iPod nano before the specifications for those products were made public by Apple. In the meantime, grey marketers in Taiwan are already selling devices reminiscent of what an iPhone nano would most probably look like. Photos of those devices were published on Friday.
It remains to be seen if Apple will issue any official comment regarding these rumors about its iPhone nano at the upcoming Macworld 2009 Conference and Expo, which runs from January 5 to January 9 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
