There have been a lot of discussions surounding the launch of the new 3G iPhone. Most of them were positive, talking about the improvements brought by the device, its features and elegant design; unfortunately, as the phone’s worldwide success closes in on its highpoint, it seems that the time has come for some negative feedback to surface.
There have been several reports from users complaining about dropped calls in the middle of their conversations and a poor signal that made their Web surfing extremely difficult.
At first the company refused to address the issue but a recent report released by BusinessWeek announced that the company is currently developing a software update which should take care of the problem. Apple analized its options and found the update a lot cheaper and a lot less time consuming than the alternative of a general recall.
AT&T, Apple’s official and sole carrier in the United States, was also questioned about the problems, but its officials explained that it is normal for any sort of portable to present some issues at a certain point, but ”Overall, the new iPhone is performing just great on our 3G network.”
Looking at AT&T’s official response, it is actually true that every company experiences certain problems sooner or later and what sets one apart from the other is the manner in which those problems are handled. Surely, Apple will not think twice before addressing the issue and the update can be expected in the near future, to make sure that its clients are happy and that the sales will maintain the current trend.
