Apple Might Release Its Lowest Priced Notebook Yet

A new series of laptop computers is expected from producer Apple Inc. next week, which might include the company’s lowest priced model ever. Apple is looking to charge other segments of the market, and in order to do so, it needs a much more affordable version of its laptops.

The announcement should take place during Tuesday’s conference which will be attended by many members of the media and analysts.

Following its well-known strategy, none of Apple’s officials disclosed any details about the event’s announcements but the general belief is that there will be unveiled the new versions of the MacBook and the MacBook Pro notebook computers, which will include a model priced for the first time below $1,000, in the neighborhood of $800.

The decision to cut the prices would put Apple much closer to the market’s general direction, as all the computer makers have made significant price cuts on their offers. Also it could mean a stabilization of its stocks’ price which fell with 25 percent since September 26, in a turn of events that was not anticipated by its investors.

The official invitation statement notes that "The spotlight turns to notebooks," as the computer revenue recorded an increase of 43% from the previous year to $3.6 billion and the notebook sales accounted for 61% of that, growing 42% from a year earlier.

Still, even with this alleged discount, Apple will have a hard time competing with other computer makers that offer full-featured PCs at prices ranging from $399 to $450, which are extremely appreciated all over the world.
