On October
14, Apple Incorporated hosted an event during which the company introduced
their updates to the portable computers’ line, which includes the MacBook, the
MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro.
Consequently,
the redesigned MacBook, which is the cheapest of the three, is fitted with a 13.3-inch
LED-backlit screen that enables users to watch videos and browse the Internet, 2.0 or 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processors and also features Nvidia's 9400M GPU, a graphics
processor that can enhance the laptop’s visual computing performance five times
for 3D games and other apps.
Moreover, Apple’s portable computer weighs 4.5 pounds and now features a SuperDrive
that has replaced the previous combo drive.
The 3-pound MacBook Air comes with a 13.3-inch LED-backlit
screen, too, but its frame is much thinner than the MacBook’s one. It also
features the Nvidia 9400M GPU and Intel Core 2 Duo processors that can clock a
maximum 1.8GHz. The laptop has added a 128GB SSD option and a Mini DisplayPort.
As for the MacBook Pro, it is powered by both an Nvidia
9400M GPU and a 9600M GT GPU, while its Intel Core 2 Duo processors max out at 2.8GH,
thus rendering the device the fastest portable computer of Apple’s updated line.
Less than one inch thick and weighing 5.5 pounds, the laptop has a 15.4-inch
LED screen and features a high-resolution display, an ExpressCard slot, Firewire
800 for high-speed data transfer and a battery meter on the side.
All of the portable computers have a multitouch glass
trackpad, which offers users a larger by 40 percent tracking area.
