Apple seems to have reached its climax: more than 300 million apps have been downloaded from Apple's App Store, the iPod touch is out of stock at key retailers and recent news indicate that the company might be offering a $99 iPhone at Wal-Mart. Furthermore, Apple will launch a touch ecosystem.
Apple is an American multinational corporation with a focus on designing and manufacturing consumer electronics and software products. The company's best-known hardware products include the Macintosh line of personal computers, the iPod line of portable media players and the iPhone. Furthermore, the company operates more than 200 retail stores in eight countries and the App Store.
However, there are a few bad reports too. One of the most important features of the iPhone 3G is its global positioning systems (GPS). Unfortunately, Apple had to kill the GPS functionality in order to sell the phone in Egypt. The Egyptian government was worried about consumers being able to use the phone's GPS to pinpoint things like military bases. It looks like a silly measure, anyway, because it's actually cheaper to buy an iPhone 3G with GPS from another country than getting the crippled one in Egypt.
This can mean only more trouble for Apple, as the company is trying to introduce its phone in China. It is well known that the Chinese government, which is strict on censorship, will have same of the same issues the Egyptian government had, and probably a few more. In addition, an App Store could be in jeopardy in China, and that's because Apple can't have the best track record with policing it despite a lengthy app review process. All in all, the first iPhone in China will probably be launched in 2009, but just exactly how much it will resemble the regular phone remains to be seen.
