Wednesday night, another three “American Idol” semi-finalists were announced, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert having been the lucky ones to earn a position on Season 8’s Top 12.
Judge Simon Cowell told the 23-year-old Arkansas college student Kris Allen that tweens would get tired of the Jonas Brothers and that he could become the next huge sensation.
As for the 16-year-old high school junior from Los Angeles Allison Iraheta, who was chosen second by the voting viewers, she was compared to Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of the „American Idol” television show and went on to become a household name in the music industry.
After Adam Lambert gave his performance of „Satisfaction” on Wednesday night, his rendition having ended the edition, judge Paula Abdul told the singer that he had made it look that he had no longer been on the show’s stage, but performing at his own concert, while Randy Jackson compared the contestant with „Twilight” star Robert Pattinson, among other celebrities.
Nevertheless, Simon Cowell told Adam that his performance had been both brilliant and excruciating, adding though that he was confident that the singer would improve his skills.
Next Tuesday, the final group of twelve contestants is scheduled to perform on the show, while on March 5, “American Idol” singers will be competing in the wild-card round.
