They never learn, do they? We all know that, about a month
ago, two men tried to climb the New York Times building and got arrested. Wednesday
morning another daredevil did the same thing.
According to The Associated Press, police said the man made
it to the 11th floor before he descended to a lower level. Once
there, he began making cell phone calls and talking to police. Authorities said
he was arrested around 5:30 a.m.
CNN reported that around 2:10 a.m. he arrived on the 11th
floor and put a banner that read “Bin Laden’s Plan.” It had a picture of Osama
bin Laden who was holding President George W. Bush from puppet strings.
The man was first seen climbing the building at about 1:30
a.m. Authorities closed some streets and installed an inflatable cushion,
placing it in front of the main entrance of the New York Times building.
Catherine Mathis, a spokeswoman for the Times, said that the
building had some modifications made after the two climbers tried to scale the building
on June 5. They both got to the top and they both got arrested and charged with
reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
The spokeswoman said that it remained to see how the man managed
to overcome the new obstacles.
