Anne Pressly was an American actress and a very popular news anchor, working for KATV Channel 7 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in 1982 in Greenville, South Carolina. While she was in high school, she and her family moved to Little Rock. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Rhodes College, one of the most prestigious and esteemed learning institutions in the United States.
In 2004, Pressly was hired in May 2004 by KATV to produce “Good Morning Arkansas” and report for “MidDay Arkansas” and “Saturday Daybreak”. As of November 2004, she was hired on the position of full-time reporter. She was also cast by Oliver Stone himself in his latest movie “W.”, portraying a character highly similar to Ann Coulter.
On October 20th, Anne Pressly did not answer her regular wake-up call prior to appearing on “Daybreak”. Her mother, Patricia Cannady, proceeded to call the Little Rock police.
She found her daughter inert in bed, with injuries later confirmed to be the result of a beating. The police’s investigation revealed that her purse was missing, thus suspecting a robbery. The suspicion is also sustained by the fact that one of the victim’s credit cards was used at a service station near her house, hours after Pressly’s mother found her.
Pressly was immediately committed to St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center. Doctors were reluctant to comment on her state, but did say they were “guardedly optimistic” about her recovery rates. The news anchor, aged 26, passed away on Saturday, October 25th. Her parents were with her during her last moments, and have asked the press to respect their privacy.
