The actress’ estranged hubby, Coley Laffoon, was granted primary physical custody of the couple’s five-year-old son, Homer, together with an undisclosed amount of cash in child support.
According to recent reports, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge decided it was best for the kid to continue living with his stay-at-home dad while Heche, who’s returned back to Vancouver where she’ll shoot the second season of "Men In Trees," will only have alternate weekend visits with her son.
Laffoon reportedly received "far below his original demand" in spousal support. He asked for $33,000-a-month to maintain the "marital standard of living" to which he had become accustomed.
The freelance videographer filed for divorce in February after five years of marriage and a month after the actress' romance with her "Men In Trees" co-star, James Tupper, surfaced.
During the past several weeks, their custody battle went public with Laffoon stating in his filling for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of Homer, that his mother had "poor parenting skills" and exhibited "bizarre and delusional behavior" that made him wary of leaving Homer in her care.
Heche fought back saying the only reason her estranged husband spends more time with their son is because she’s working to provide for the family. She also accused him of watching porn and gambling while he’s supposed to watch over their kid.
"Coley does stay at home while I am working, but not to parent," she stated in court documents.
