No crystal ball is needed to predict the winners of Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards. The 66th annual ceremony shall take place at The Beverly Hilton during a live telecast airing on NBC.
Last year, Anne Hathaway proved that whatever kind of script she is given, she is willing to make it work. She can be funny in a blockbuster comedy or face more serious issues, like she did for her Golden Globe-nominated part in "Rachel Getting Married."
Hathaway always did wonderfully in playing the good girl or the girl next door in a lot of her roles, but in her critically acclaimed role in "Rachel," she plays a girl who has been to rehab for too many times to count and returns home for her sister's wedding. It was a challenge that she just could not say no to.
And all her work is paying off now, as a star indicating that Hathaway had won a Golden Globe was found next to her name under the category Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association stated that this nominee was accidentally marked as a winner on its Web site days before the Globes presentation.
NY Magazine caught the slip-up on Wednesday, which was immediately corrected and removed from the site. Anne Hathaway blamed the whole incident on technical difficulties, as she told Access Hollywood. What is important about all this is the fact that the actress was nominated, which is considered an honor in itself, even if she does not get the trophy after all.
Hathaway's 2009 started big with the release of "Bride Wars," her comedy with Kate Hudson. She is also expected to be working hard filming her role as the White Queen in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," as well as "The Fiance."
"It's very exciting to be singled out for an individual performance," she stated for the Los Angeles Times. "That hasn't happened to me very much in my career."
