Sunday, in the Hamptons: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt hosted a lavish charity dinner party in support of Brad’s Make It Right charity project, which aims to help Hurricane Katrina victims.

The celebrity couple had an exciting weekend that included more than spending time with the children: they hosted a party in the Hamptons, according to media reports. The fund-raising event took place at the home of Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, the couple who co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival with Robert De Niro several years ago.

Entertainment News reports that Angie and Brad arrived by helicopter at 5:30 p.m. at the Francis S. Gabreski Airport in Westhampton and left the same way later during that night.

The fund-raiser was organized to promote Brad’s Make It Right project, which is behind the building of environmentally friendly homes in the devastated Ninth Ward of New Orleans.

Brad was on location earlier this week, when he joined Global Green USA and main financial partner, Home Depot Foundation, in the Holy Cross section of the Lower 9th Ward. Their visit marked the second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Brad and his partners were there to visit the progress of work on the first eco-friendly home in the region. Brad expressed his commitment for the project once more, by saying in an interview with Ann Curry: “This is an important city. It's important to us culturally. It's also an important city to us economically.

“I know a lot of the people here. I care very much for the area. I see a great responsibility,” the actor added.

He and Angelina have a home in the French Quarter, where they live along with their four children. They moved in last winter.

Sunday’s party lasted some four hours and included high-profile guests such as Christie Brinkley, Ellen Barkin, Donna Karan and Jimmy Buffet, according to E! Online. The event included dinner and a speech from Brad on the importance of the matter.
