The world met Angelina Jolie Voight on June 4th, 1975. Daughter of actor Jon Voight, Angelina followed in her father’s footsteps career-wise. And it seems to have been a good choice, as she has earned three Golden Globe Awards, an Oscar and two awards from the Screen Actors Guild. She is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency.
She has been married to actor Jonny Lee Miller and then to Billy Bob Thornton. Her relationship with the actor was quite controversial, as she wore a vile with his blood around her neck. Angelina Jolie is now married to another eternal Hollywood sex-symbol, actor Brad Pitt, whom she married after his divorce from “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston. There has been some controversy surrounding the beginning of their relationship, as Angelina let slip that they fell in love on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, when Pitt was still married with Aniston.
Angelina and Brad have six children – at least so far. Maddox, Pax and Zahara are adopted, and Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne are their biological children.
After starring in hit movies, the last of which was “Changeling”, a touching drama based on the true story of a woman whose child is kidnapped and is given back a child that isn’t her own, Angelina seems to be thinking about focusing all her attention on her family and stepping away from the spotlight.
Fortunately for us, Angelina’s die-hard fans, her departure from the big screen isn’t going to happen very soon. Her leave has been announced to be happening sometime next year. The actress said she will be taking a year off and perhaps make another movie after that year is over. Afterwards, she might return to the screen every three years or so. Angelina says that her responsibilities as a mother to her six children supersede her love of acting.
