Forget the fact that they are two of the most beautiful people on the planet. Aren’t Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt really great on so many other levels? They’re smart, they love children, and they are generously donating tons of money to charity, not to mention the fact that they are PR geniuses, both of them.

The “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” stars have managed to cause both controversy and rounds of applause with their latest move, a certain personal picture that is in the same time a beautiful moment the two decided to share with the world, a way to gain some extra cash for those charities they have all around the world, a smart publicity stunt to promote Angelina’s latest movie, “Changeling,” and last, but not least, a model for all those mommies out-there.

The picture appeared on the cover of W magazine’s latest issue and caused quite a stir among Brangelina nonbelievers. The actress is seen breastfeeding one of her new born twins, with a happy peaceful smile on her face, wearing a delicate white gown. One of her breasts is slightly uncovered in a very non-sexual way and there’s a sweet little baby hand showing up in the corner.

Apparently, the photo on the cover, as well as some  others to be seen inside the magazine, was taken by the proud father of six, as the title reads: “Exclusive: Brad Pitt’s Private Photos of Angelina Jolie.” It feels intimate and tender and the shot itself is very beautiful.

So why the scandal? Some say such photos should be kept private, but aren’t Brad and Angie, as he calls her, constantly on every other tabloid cover anyway? Aren’t paparazzi always tracking them down, making their life, as well as the life of their children, a living hell? Aren’t there enough blurry, out of focus and unflattering pictures of celebrities taken from bushes and over fences? Yes, yes there are.

So the most beautiful pair in Hollywood decided to once again do a smart move and release their own personal photos, ones that are tasteful and express the real joy of having a baby. Or two. Or six. The fact that Brad himself took the pictures makes them so much more emotionally charged. It’s almost uncomfortable looking at them, like peaking through a keyhole at someone’s private family moments.

But most of the reactions came back positive, especially from those who don’t see a bomb shell uncovering her breast, but a beautiful and happy Jolie and, more simply, a caring mother nurturing her child. The pictures send out the message that breastfeeding is a beautiful natural thing, not taboo, and most definitely not unpleasant or disgusting.
