Angelina Jolie Planning To Adopt More Children… Soon

The Jolie-Pitt clan is not done expanding yet, actress Angelina Jolie revealed in a rather rare and lengthy interview with "Today Show" host Matt Lauer this morning.

Answering one of Lauer's first questions about having more children, the mother-of-six nodded and murmured in assent. Without giving further details, "The Changeling" star confirmed she and her partner, actor Brad Pitt, have considered a new adoption.

However, asked whether that is something they would do soon, Jolie explained that an adoption process cannot even start "until any new children are six months old," in order "to understand how the new family has settled to see what you could absorb into a new family."

For now, the entire Jolie-Pitt family is focusing on the latest addition, twins Vivienne and Knox, who were born three-and-a-half months ago in France.

"It's hard to bring a baby into a family...but twins is like foundation-shocking, isn't it?" Lauer asked, but Jolie jokingly replied: "You know, we have so many children, they're not really stunned anymore when kids come home."

"Mad's like the professional big brother, he's done it so many times," the 33-year-old actress continued. "We prepared them... they knew [the twins were] coming."

Besides, the children Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2, "are all at that great age that they aren't threatened," Jolie explained. "That they are independent enough to not need mommy and daddy all the time, and to be able to enjoy the kids," which includes playing, changing their diapers and dressing them up.

As far as the celebrity lifestyle involving a lot of moving around is concerned, Angelina reassuringly said the children like it, and the family has no plans for settling in one place for a while, at least until the kids get older.

"The children will probably dictate. We talk about one day, they'll probably want to stay in one place for a very long time, as they start to get certain friends," Jolie said, "So far we've just moved them a lot. They like packing their bags before the next adventure, and like making new friends wherever we go.

Needless to say, Angelina's happiness is also due to meeting "the right person," meaning Brad Pitt.

"I don't like being without him. I don't like being alone like I used to," said the actress. She and Brad have been together for almost four years, but haven't expressed any urge to walk down the aisle.

On her new dark drama "Changeling," directed by Clint Eastwood and due out in theaters on October 31, the actress said she was inspired by the story about a "heroic" single mother who fights back after her son is kidnapped by battling the system and getting laws changed. Jolie also said she felt a special connection to her "captivating" character, who reminded her very much of her own mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer in January 2007.
