Android Will Be Able To Run Shazam And MySpace Apps

MySpace has announced that an application for Android based phones has been created and will be available for download starting with Wednesday, when the G1 cell phone will be officially launched. At the same time, the popular iPhone application, Shazam, announced it will be available on Android based cell phones. Unlike on the iPhone, on Android phones shazam will send users on Amazon MP3 Store. Both MySpace and Android apps are a big surprise and make the suspense of waiting for the G1 even harder to take.

The MySpace application will allow users to access their accounts live, through their mobile phone. MySpace Live will allow users to upload photos instantly from an Android phone to MySpace, find information regarding different bands and their tour dates, comment upon photos, bulletins and profiles, add and browse for new friends on the social network, change the status of your profile and receive and send messages. MySpace has also announced that is now working on designing a similar application destined for Blackberry.

Shazam, on the other hand, will also be available as an application for the phones running on Android. This application allows users to identify songs they are hearing by pointing the phone at the music source, after which the application goes online and gives information about the artist, song and album. On iPhone the application also sends the user to iTunes and apparently on Android based cell phones, Shazam will send users to Amazon MP3 store and to the band’s MySpace profile, if that certain artist has such an account.
