Andrew Firestone may not have been lucky with his first would-be-marriage but he sure is willing to give it a second try, this time with a model.
The former star of ABC reality television dating game show “The Bachelor” is currently engaged to model-actress Ivana Bozilovic, it was revealed this week. The 32-year-old heir to the Firestone tire fortune is set to marry his ladylove in spring 2008.
E! Online reports it was Santa Barbara County Supervisor Brooks Firestone, Firestone’s father, who broke the news about the upcoming nuptial ceremony. “We love her. She makes Andrew behave,” the father said of Ivana.
The 30-year-old bride-to-be has had roles in films such as “Wedding Crashers” and “Van Wilder,” E! Online reports.
Firestone’s previous engagement is no good precedent, considering that he chose his bride, Jen Schefft, from a group of 25 women competing on a television reality show. He proposed to Schefft in 2003 and they were engaged for only a few months before calling it quits.
Andrew Firestone is currently running his family’s wine business, Firestone Vineyard.
“The Bachelor” premiered its eleventh season in late September and two dozen women are once again courting a good-looking, rich bachelor. While there have been matches during the series’ previous seasons, few have stood the test of time, with many of the separated couples saying it just didn’t work.
The series has a spin-off, “The Bachelorette,” where the roles are reversed: one woman is courted by a group of men and she eliminates one by one until, hopefully, she is left with Mr. Right.
The show’s first season was also its most successful, in that bachelorette Trista Rehn, the runner-up date from the first season of “The Bachelor,” married. She and Ryan Sutter were married on TV in December 2003. They have a newborn son.
