Amy Winehouse’s Husband Released From Jail, Checks Into Rehab

If you forgot who Blake Fielder-Civil is, here’s a reminder – he’s British singer Amy Winehouse’s husband. If you’re wondering why he was absent from public life, it’s because Blake has been in prison for a year. He was imprisoned for assaulting the landlord of a pub in 2006 and for then trying to whitewash it.

Blake, who is a former video assistant, married Amy in 2007, in Miami. Also, in July 2007, he was sentenced to spend 27 months in jail. However, he only served half of the sentence. The condition set by the court, in order for Blake to be released early, was for him to check into rehab as soon as he left jail.

Amy Winehouse is no stranger to drug-addiction related problems. She was recently taken to the hospital for problems caused by her smoking cigarettes and crack pipes. Her professional life, however, is going fairly well – and that’s an understatement. Just this year, Amy Winehouse earned five Grammy awards and released hit album “Back to Black”.

Amy was not present at her husband’s release from prison. Sources confirmed she was at her house, recovering after her release from London Clinic, where she was committed and had received treatment for a chest infection. Blake was visibly excited for being released from prison, as the wide smile he had on his face announced. His appearance, however, was quite worrisome – Blake sported a chipped tooth and several scratches on his arms.

Maybe the controversial couple will help each other out in overcoming their problems. However, their encounter may be hindered by Blake’s time in rehab, as these clinics do not usually allow any visitors – at least when the treatment had barely started.
