The 26-year-old husband of troubled singer Amy Winehouse was
released from jail on Wednesday just to check into rehab. And he said “Yes,
yes, yes.”
Blake Fielder-Civil was permitted to leave prison on condition
that he entered a rehabilitation center.
He was arrested approximately a year ago, on November 8,
2007, for assaulting a pub manager and trying to conceal the incident. On June
5, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 27 months in prison for assault and
obstruction of justice.
The former video assistant, who tied the knot with Amy
Winehouse last year in Miami, had already been behind bars for nine months when
he received the verdict, which included a stipulation allowing him to serve
only half of his sentence.
Nevertheless, there was no sign of Amy Winehouse near the
Edmunds Hill Prison in Suffolk, as she
reportedly remained at her London
home. The singer has just checked out of the London Clinic after being
hospitalized for a chest infection.
Amy Winehouse won acclaim for her multiple Grammy-winning
album “Back to Black,” which was released in 2006. But her professional success
has not kept her away from drugs. British tabloids constantly post reports with
regard to the singer’s alleged drug use, her disloyalty toward law and her more
or less troubled relationship with her husband.
And the lovebirds will have to wait a little bit longer for
their long awaited reunion as, according to reports, Blake Fielder-Civil was
taken directly to a rehab center on Wednesday.
