Amy Winehouse's Dad Threatening To Take Drastic Measures

Overwhelmed by his daughter's recent trouble, Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch, revealed to British tabloid News of the World that his daughter needs to be sectioned (the U.S. equivalent of a mental health hold) and placed in a psych ward – for her own health, as well as the safety of others.

"I want her sectioned. The situation is getting out of control. I want her off the street," Mitch, 57, told the newspaper, dismissing another stint in rehab as not enough to "cure her problems. I think it needs far more radical measures. We will take the bull by the horns and deal with it."

His Grammy-winning daughter has recently been cautioned for assault after being questioned over reports that she scuffled with two men during a raucous night out, marking the latest episode to trouble the soul star's intensely publicized private life.

"I’ve been on the phone to Amy’s manager in Los Angeles and he’s starting things rolling. They are going to be speaking to doctors, psychologists and everything else. I want Amy to be somewhere where she will be safe and where no harm can come to her. Obviously as her dad I will try and do what’s best for her. Unfortunately, what I think is best for Amy and what she thinks is best for her are two different things," he added, acknowledging Amy's need for professional help.

Clearly on the edge, Amy's been facing some trouble in her love life, with numerous reports claiming her incarcerated husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has been unfaithful, while she's been cheating on him with her manager's assistant, Alex Haynes, who was supposed to look after Amy, according to the singer's dad.

However, according to sources quoted by People, the two have made "no decision" about a divorce.

"It is a tough situation," an insider told People.com responding to British reports of the union's demise. "[I] don't think that anyone who knows them and cares about them doesn't have an opinion about why they should [split], but it's not happening now."

But in the meantime, everyone's main concern is Amy's "health and wellbeing."
