The troubled Grammy winning songbird has yet again managed to avoid being formally charged with drug-related offenses after she was arrested last week and questioned in connection with a video showing her smoking crack after popping six Valium pills.
According to Amy Winehouse's spokeswoman, the police will take no legal action against the 24-year-old soul singer after questioning her for nine hours at an east London police station over a January video. She was released on bail soon after the interrogation she voluntarily attended, was over.
An edited version of the video, which was handed over to the police in January, was originally posted on British tabloid The Sun's website. It described how the Grammy award winner, who entered rehab last year and once this year, inhaled crack cocaine, quoting her as saying she had previously taken six Valium pills and snorted powdered ecstasy and cocaine. The video appeared to have been filmed during a house party in London.
"Police have confirmed that no action will be taken against Amy Winehouse in relation to an investigation into a video handed to them in January," the singer's rep, Tracey Millers, told E! News.
"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer," she added. Winehouse is due to play a number of festivals across Europe this summer, starting with Portugal's Rock In Rio - In Lisbon event in May.
Before last week's arrest, Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of assault after slapping a man outside a London bar, but she was released and given a formal warning after spending her night in jail.
And since she's got no more legal trouble to worry about, Winehouse wasted no time in getting back into the swing of things Tuesday night, getting together with her old pal, Babyshambles lead singer, Pete Doherty, who had his first gig post jail.
