Several British tabloids are reporting that troubled singer Amy Winehouse and her hubby of three months have already departed the clinic where they were supposed to receive treatment for their common substance abuse problem.
It was only yesterday that we heard 23-year-old British singer Amy Winehouse had checked into rehab, following a drug scare last week that ended in the emergency room.
It’s all over all too soon, too, according to reports from The Daily Mail and The Mirror. Amy left the Essex clinic she had checked into for a rehabilitation program some half a dozen weeks too early.
Last week, the singer talked about the recent hospital-scare she had. While initially attributing her emergency visit to severe exhaustion, she later admitted it had been brought on by a drug overdose.
The frail singer reportedly collapsed after a cocktail of alcohol, cocaine, ecstasy pills and Ketamine. Stories about her alcohol and substance abuse, in which she is joined by husband Blake Fielder-Civil, have been sprouting up like daisies lately.
Her mother-in-law Georgette Civil told the Daily Mail newspaper earlier this week that Amy confessed she was addicted to heroin and cocaine. According to Mrs. Civil, her son has had drug problems for some years now.
She also said that Amy’s parents think her hubby is to blame for the drug use. It was reported in the media that Amy decided to check into rehab when she saw her father and father-in-law argue over the situation.
The effect of that fight seems to have worn off quickly, as Amy is out of rehab and back to old habits with Blake. The two were seen back home in Camden, London and going to a pub, where they stayed for less than an hour.
Amy’s father said about his daughter’s decision to leave the clinic: “We were praying they wouldn't bail out early. We don't want them to go back into their vicious cycle.
“Amy has had five days away from drugs and her self-esteem and confidence is slowly coming back. I hope she and Blake can take control of their lives.”
